Datson Go Plus Quick Review:
Have you ever heard of a MUV that fits your budget? I sincerely hope you did not. As a result, we, the specialists, are here to help you take the first step toward owning a MUV. The Datson Go Plus ranks 4th in the top 10 MUVs in India. Since its introduction in 2014, the Japanese automaker has given the GO and GO Plus their first comprehensive facelift in the country. The couple receives minor exterior improvements as well as a much-needed feature addition. The GO hatchback and its mini-estate counterpart are available in five trim levels, with two new exterior colors – Amber Orange and Sunstone Brown – for the hatchback and mini-estate versions, respectively.
Vertical LED daytime running strips integrated within the blacked-out insert are among the subtle alterations to the new bumper’s appearance. The grille has been significantly modified, and the overall appearance is much more pleasing than before. Subtle tweaks are also made to the rear bumper to keep things interesting. For the first time, both automobiles will be available with 14-inch alloy wheels.
The most noticeable changes, however, occur on the inside. A seven-inch Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included in the center console. With a new instrument cluster, a genuine glove box, and a traditional handbrake lever between the seats, the dashboard has been completely overhauled. Power windows, electric mirror adjustments, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, and rear window wipers are new additions to the feature list.
Things are the same under the surface. The five-speed manual transmission is coupled to the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine from the Micra, which produces 67bhp and 104Nm. Although the duo will have a CVT transmission in international countries, we can expect an AMT in India, but it will be delayed.

Datson Go Plus Exterior:
The first thing you notice about the Datson Go Plus is how much sharper it looks than before. The grille is now larger, and the car has a more aggressive appearance. The headlamps have received a minor update as well, though they still use standard bulbs. The new bumper, which has a lot of sharp creases on the sides, complements this design. It also features new vertically stacked LED DRLs, which are complemented by black surrounds. These LED DRLs don’t look like afterthoughts, and they’re bright enough to draw attention. The ORVMs have been given a body-colored casing, and the wheels have been upgraded to dual-tone diamond-cut alloys. Not only have they been restyled, but they are also larger and wider than the previous 155/70 R13 wheels, measuring 165/70 R14. The Datsun Go Plus now has a more appealing rear end. The creases on the bumper that run down the edges serve to give the automobile a wider appearance. The bumper’s bottom crease, which resembles a lip extension, is a nice touch. In addition, a rear windscreen washer and wiper are included.
Datson Go Plus Interior:
It now has a dual-tone dashboard. The layout is much cleaner here, and the in-cabin experience appears to have been improved. The shape of the center AC vent has also been altered, and it is now integrated into the dashboard’s top layer. It has a brushed aluminum-like plastic covering that gives it a more expensive appearance. Steering-mounted audio and telephony controls are a valuable amenity that has been overlooked here. The instrument cluster is also new, but it may look familiar due to its Micra origins. The new models include an analogue tachometer on the left. The odometer, trip meter, distance-to-empty, time, and fuel level are all displayed on the small orange-backlit MID (multi-info display) at the bottom. Surprisingly, a lane change indication is missing, which is a very basic but necessary function. A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been added to the center console. Apart from the standard USB, Bluetooth, and Aux inputs, it also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The screen itself is compatible with a rear camera. However, the camera is not included in the Datson Go Plus features list, so you’ll have to buy it separately. Regrettably, the sound system hasn’t received the same treatment. Datsun has installed ‘Anti-Fatigue Seats,’ which seek to provide more comfort, particularly on lengthy rides. This is a significant detail because Datsun automobiles are popular in hilly areas, where the difficult terrain can transform short trips into long ones.
Datson Go Plus Performance:
The Datsun Go Plus is still powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine, with no diesel option. This engine has a power output of 68 horsepower and a torque output of 104 Newton meters. Power is increased to 77PS thanks to the CVT transmission. The gear ratios of the 5-speed manual transmission have been revised by Datsun engineers to increase driveability. As a result, the car remains nimble, with the engine pulling hard from 2000rpm onwards. Of course, this isn’t a car for enthusiasts, but the Go Plus is said to be as speedy as the Ignis petrol AMT, with a stated 0-100kmph time of 13.3 seconds. It accelerates from 30 kilometres per hour in fourth gear without the engine knocking. Between 80 and 100 kilometres per hour, the CVT travels just below 2,000 rpm on the highway. This helps with fuel efficiency and keeps the engine calm.
Datson Go Plus Safety:
For beginners, the Datsun Go Plus structure has been strengthened significantly. It has gained roughly 150kg in the process, and Datsun maintains that the Go Plus will pass the impending Indian crash test regulations. Not only do you now receive dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, braking assist, and rear parking sensors as standard equipment, but you also receive all of these features in the base model. Yes, normal follow-me-home headlamps are included. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), which is essentially electronic stability control, is included in the top-spec T, T(O) models (ESC).
