  • Design that grabs your attention. It looks macho and has a bigger presence on the road than ever before.
  • Both petrol and diesel engines are available, with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option for each.
  • Off-road design that is more suitable than before. Departure angle, breakover angle, and ground clearance have all improved significantly.
  • Interior of good quality and more utility than before. The Thar has become more family-friendly in recent years.
  • Noise, vibration, and harshness management have been improved. Driving no longer feels crass or out of date.
  • Additional configurations: Available as a 6- or 4-seater with a fixed soft top, fixed hardtop, or convertible soft top.


  • The ride is a little rough. Although it handles rough roads adequately, sharp bumps can easily upset the interior.
  • It’s an old school ladder frame SUV that acts like one. Even on minor curves, there is a lot of body roll.
  • Some issues in the cabin: Even with the automatic, the rear windows aren’t openable, the pedal box provides no room for your left foot to rest, and the inside is dense. B pillars create large blind areas to the side.
  • It’s a refined/improved version of a tough off-roader, but it’s no substitute for more practical, comfortable, and feature-rich compact/subcompact SUVs.

Customer Reviews:

  • Superb SUV. The combination of strength and comfort is a winning combination. My average mileage is about 13.1 kmpl. However, I prefer a five-door Thar because it has more trunk room and easier access for rear-seat passengers.
  • The automobile was far too nice. For a Jeep, the design was excellent. The engine is really powerful.
  • It’s nice to be able to ride in comfort. Although it is one of India’s greatest Jeeps, it still needs to improve its back seats. Better air conditioning would have been beneficial. The engine performs admirably.
