MG Hector Plus Quick Reviews:

Are you looking for a mid-range luxury car? Then here’s why you should purchase the MG Hector Plus. Morris Garages has officially introduced the Plus-sized variant of its famous SUV, Hector, branded the Hector Plus after showcasing it at the Auto Expo 2020. As its name implies, this car built on the same foundation as its smaller sibling.

The Hector Plus, unlike the Hector, has a three-row layout with captain seats or a bench in the center row. As a result, the manufacturer is advertising the MG Plus as a chauffeur-driven option. In MG’s words, the third row is reserved for “teenagers.” Furthermore, the MG Hector Plus is definitely one of the most cost-effective three-row SUVs on the market.

The MG Hector Plus has seen a price increase of up to Rs 38,000 across all models, including the 6- and 7-seater. The SUV currently costs between Rs 13.63 lakh and Rs 19.61 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova Crysta are also competitors for the Hector Plus.

MG Hector Plus Specifications:

The Hector Plus is available with two engines: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 143PS/250Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel with 170PS/350Nm. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a dual-clutch automatic and a new 8-speed CVT option for the turbo-petrol models. A 48V mild-hybrid system can be added to the turbo-petrol manual drivetrain. Only the 6-seater variants of the Hector Plus have the DCT and CVT transmission options.

Exterior:

Most of the stylistic cues of the new MG Hector Plus are shared with the 5-seat Hector. Minor improvements, such as reprofiled front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlamp housing, and a new mesh grille, have been made by the manufacturer. The Hector Plus is slightly longer than the normal Hector to accommodate the three-row configuration.

Interior:

Don’t be fooled by the MG Hector’s low on-road price; it comes with a slew of features and a comfortable cabin. For the most part, MG has used soft-touch plastics for the dashboard. When it comes to the dashboard, the overall design is identical to that of its smaller sibling. To differentiate between the two versions, the Hector Plus has a tan brown leatherette upholstery as opposed to Hector’s dreary black leatherette upholstery. The Plus-sized Hector, of course, receives a three-row seating arrangement.

Power trains:

The SUV comes with both petrol and diesel engines from MG. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 143PS and 250Nm, comes with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a 6-speed DCT or the new 8-speed CVT transmission as an option. The DCT and CVT options, on the other hand, are only available on the 6-seater models. MG has also included a 48V mild-hybrid system with the turbo-petrol engine, but just a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 170PS and 350Nm when combined with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Safety:

Electronic stability programmer (ESP), front and rear parking sensors, hill hold control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS with EBD and braking aid, dual front airbags, and traction control are all standard safety equipment. Up to six airbags are available on the top-spec model.

Mileage:

The mileage of the Manual Diesel version is 16.65 kmpl. The Manual Petrol model gets 16.56 kilometres per litre. The mileage of the Automatic Petrol variant is 11.67 kmpl.

Fuel Type Transmission ARAI Mileage

Diesel Manual 16.65 kmpl

Petrol Manual 16.56 kmpl

Petrol Automatic 11.67 kmpl

Features:

A new swipe-to-open tailgate feature, a 10.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, cruise control, climate control, a color red multi-info display, and ambient lighting are among the highlights of the Hector Plus. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control are included in the safety features.

The Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Toyota Innova Crysta are among competitors for the MG Hector Plus.
