Volkswagen Polo:

Are you looking for a new car? Then here’s why you should purchase the Volkswagen Polo. From 2009 onwards, the Volkswagen Polo was built in India. The Volkswagen Polo is a 5-seater hatchback that is classified as a Supermini. The premium hatchback is available in five petrol models in the Indian market, with seating for up to five people. Despite the lack of split-folding rear seats, the Volkswagen Polo has a cargo area of 280 litres.

The Volkswagen Polo is suitable for extended interstate drives or long-distance travel with its roomy second row and comfy seats. It’s not a vehicle designed for off-roading. The Polo comes with a powerful 999 cc or 1-litre engine that produces 75 or 109 BHP, depending on the version. Peak torque varies from 95 to 175 Nm, which is noteworthy. Both the automatic and manual transmission options deliver excellent performance. This car gets excellent mileage, averaging 17.8-18.2 kilometres per litre. Polo has been awarded the ASEAN 4-star safety rating and boasts excellent build quality.

The Volkswagen Polo has got a mid-life makeover that includes new visual and feature enhancements. In addition to the previous colour selections of sunset red, reflex silver candy white, carbon steel, lapiz blue, and toffee brown.

Engine:

The Volkswagen Polo is available with a 75bhp/95Nm 1.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that delivers 89bhp/230Nm in basic form and 108bhp/250Nm in GT TDI form. The Polo GT TSI also comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 103bhp/175Nm. All engines come with a five-speed manual transmission. However, the GT TSI is only available with a seven-speed DSG transmission.

Ground clearance:

The Volkswagen Polo has a 168 mm ground clearance. The minimum distance between the bottom of a car and the ground is known as ground clearance. You can drive across uneven roads, potholes, and speed breakers on Indian roadways, as well as mountainous terrain and unpaved roads, with better ground clearance. As a result, it assists in overcoming any anticipated scratch or damage to the chassis and underbody.

Fuel tank capacity:

The gasoline tank capacity of the Volkswagen Polo is 45 litres. The maximum amount of fuel that can be stored in a vehicle is its fuel tank capacity. The car’s manufacturer defines it separately for each vehicle. Small cars have smaller fuel tanks, while larger cars have larger tanks. It is recommended that you only fill the tank up to the specified capacity, as overfilling could result in a fuel leak.

Features:

A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, cruise control, rear AC vents, chilled glovebox, climatronic AC, and rain-sensing wipers are among Polo’s prominent features. Dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, and rear parking sensors are among the safety features available. ESP is no longer available on Volkswagen’s automatic models.

Rivals:

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, and Honda Jazz are also competitors for the Polo.

Verdict:

The Volkswagen Polo has a robust build quality, and the TSI version is also fun to drive, all of which have kept it on the market for a long time. The rest of the line, on the other hand, is average at best and is in desperate need of replacement, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Aside from that, there aren’t many automobiles that can compete with the Polo for those who enjoy driving.
